“A Decade of Silent Love—Exposed by the Bullet Screens” : Chapter 33

A chill snaked down Lin Jingyao’s back as Shi Ning’s gaze lingered on her. Fear that Shi Ning might just stab her again gripped her, and she looked up at Qin Heye with tear-filled, pleading eyes. “Brother-in-law, please advise…”

Shi Ning cut her off, her voice sharp. “I am the only daughter in my family, and I have no younger sister. Don’t try to make connections and call my husband your brother-in-law.” She hadn’t realized Lin Jingyao would stoop to calling Qin Heye “brother-in-law” behind her back, a blatant attempt to foster intimacy. “You should call him, Master Qin.”

The suggestion of changing her address filled Lin Jingyao with dread. Calling Qin Heye “brother-in-law” had subtly granted her some privileges; a less demanding job at the Qin Group, better pay, and more benefits. If she changed her title, all that would vanish. Her mind raced, and she opted for a retreat to advance. “Ning Ning doesn’t want to admit that she is married to Mr. Qin, and is afraid that Shen Xizhou will misunderstand. Then I won’t call you brother-in-law.”

Shi Ning rolled her eyes. “Not letting you call him brother-in-law means you don’t recognize that Qin Heye and I are married?” She raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Does it mean that I have to make love with my husband for a whole night in front of you to recognize our relationship?”

Qin Heye’s mind immediately flashed back to the wildness of that night. Shi Ning, insatiable, had clung to him again and again—in the living room, the bedroom, the bathroom, on the sofa… His eyes, dark with desire, took on a crimson hue. He leaned down, his lips brushing Shi Ning’s ear, his voice a hoarse whisper. “I can meet your request, but outsiders can’t watch.” He added, his voice deepening, “I have mysophobia, and my body is only for my wife to see.”

Shi Ning hadn’t expected Qin Heye to utter such a suggestive phrase at this time , yet he did so with an unexpected air of virtuousness. A blush crept up her neck, and she playfully pinched the soft flesh on his waist. Qin Heye’s eyes crinkled in a smile, and he tightened his embrace around Shi Ning’s slender waist, holding her pressed firmly against him.

Lin Jingyao watched them, and a suffocating wave of jealousy washing over her. They were so perfectly matched, so intimately entwined that she felt utterly superfluous, merely standing there. Her teeth ground together. “Ningning, we are outside. You should be more reserved and not so clingy; it will have a bad influence on your reputation.”

Shi Ning frowned at her. “Lin Jingyao, are you so jealous of my intimacy with my husband and so eager to seduce him that you truly drugged me?”

Lin Jingyao visibly flinched. “Shi Ning!” she gasped, her voice laced with panic.

Shi Ning raised an eyebrow. “Tell me,” she challenged, “Why did I put the knife on your wrist? How did I tell you about divorcing Qin Heye, and how did I force you to do this?”

Lin Jingyao was caught completely off guard. She hadn’t anticipated Shi Ning bringing up these points, confronting her directly! If she confessed, Qin Heye would suspect her of drugging Shi Ning and investigate further. And if she clarified, Qin Heye wouldn’t misunderstand Shi Ning, and with their relationship so strong, how could she possibly interfere and win him over?

“Ningning, I…” As soon as she opened her mouth, Lin Jingyao’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed backward.

Pei Qianhuo, out of ingrained politeness, instinctively reached out to help her. “Assistant Pei,” Shi Ning called out sharply. Pei Qianhuo immediately withdrew his hand, snapping to attention. “Miss Shi, give your orders.”

Thud. Lin Jingyao hit the ground squarely. This time, she genuinely felt dizzy, her eyes rolling. She cursed Shi Ning silently, bitch!

Shi Ning, however, knew at a glance that Lin Jingyao was still feigning, despite her genuine dizziness. “Yaoyao is my good friend. You take her to the hospital for stitches. You must drive slowly on the way.” She instructed Pei Qianhuo with feigned seriousness. “Also, anesthesia can harm the brain. Yaoyao is stupid to begin with, and she’ll become as stupid as a pig after anesthesia. So when you sew the stitches, tell the doctor not to use anesthesia.”

So much bleeding and a fall on the back of the head. Shouldn’t it be faster to go to the hospital? And was she…cursing at her? Pei Qianhuo stammered, “Uh… yes.”

Shi Ning continued, “Then give Yaoyao the most expensive physical examination, especially of the brain, so she doesn’t fall and become stupid.” She then added with a saccharine sweetness, “Yaoyao is very strong-willed and doesn’t want to spend more of my money, so let her pay for the medical expenses and examinations herself.”

Lin Jingyao, who was still pretending to be unconscious, was so enraged she almost coughed up blood. She had planned to extort 100,000 yuan in medical expenses from Shi Ning! And now she was being told to pay for it herself? Also, can someone please help her up from the ground first? It was really cold down there, and the onlookers were making her feel utterly mortified!

“Yaoyao is very kind,” Shi Ning went on, seriously reminding Pei Qianhuo, “don’t cut in line when you go to the hospital…” Shi Ning deliberately dragged out her instructions, determined not to let him leave quickly.

It felt like an eternity, like a century. Lin Jingyao lay on the cold ground, certain that if she stayed there much longer, she could simply call the crematorium for a one-stop service. Finally, with a thick skin, she opened her eyes, scrambled to her feet, yanked open the Maybach’s door, and slid inside. “Assistant Pei, take me to the hospital quickly!” she demanded, all in one smooth motion.

Pei Qianhuo looked up, seeking Shi Ning’s approval. Shi Ning, in a remarkably good mood, simply waved her hand. “Go ahead.”

Qin Heye then gave Pei Qianhuo a stern instruction. “When you’re done, take the car for maintenance, remove and replace the interior, and then thoroughly clean and disinfect it.” This was his subtle way of expressing his extreme disdain for Lin Jingyao having ridden in his car. He didn’t mention her name, nor did he explicitly state his dislike, but his words were venomous.

Comparing his reaction, Shi Ning realized just how incredibly tolerant and gentle Qin Heye had been with her over the past three years! He had secretly loved her for ten years? But why did he like her? Shi Ning stared at Qin Heye, utterly confused.

Qin Heye’s posture stiffened under her gaze, his chin lifting slightly before he looked down at her. “Do you like looking at me so much?”

Shi Ning nodded. “Yes you are Good-looking, really good-looking!”

“Really?” Qin Heye straightened his body, standing rigid as a soldier, yet his question was delivered casually. “Prettier than Shen Xizhou?”

Shi Ning blinked. Can he also bring up Shen Xizhou now?

[The jealous look of the villain is so cute. If the female supporting role doesn’t want him, come out and let me go in and play for two episodes!]

[Qin Heye is so jealous and nervous, looking forward to Shi Ning’s answer, but his expression is so calm and casual.]

[Pretender! Vicious female supporting role, tell him that the villain is not as good-looking as the male lead Shen Xizhou, I guarantee he will turn into a popsicle and cry like a kettle at night.]

[The above-mentioned person’s plan has hit my crotch. You just want to see Shi Ning annoy Qin Heye and make him turn into a villain so that you can watch the imprisonment play.]

Shi Ning had been about to tease Qin Heye, to deliberately provoke him. But then she read that last comment, and instantly changed her mind. She looked up at him, her eyes filled with affectionate admiration. “My husband is the most handsome, the most handsome in the universe!” After declaring this, she frowned again. “Don’t compare yourself to Shen Xizhou. You are such a beautiful man, but comparing yourself with a pile of shit not only lowers your value, it’s disgusting to both you and me!”

Truly, she hadn’t realized how handsome Qin Heye was before! He was a hundred times more handsome than Shen Xizhou! Oh my God, the plot is too strong! Such a gentle, rich, and handsome man, and she was so stupid as to not want him, preferring Shen Xizhou, that dark, scheming scum?

Shen Xizhou, who had been watching from afar, heard her words. He frowned, deeply displeased. “Shi Ning!” she had actually called Qin Heye her husband! Did she know he was here and say those words on purpose, just to make him angry and coax her?
