“A Decade of Silent Love—Exposed by the Bullet Screens”: Chapter 52

Cellphone.” Shi Ning extended her hand to Qin Heye. He didn’t question her, simply retrieved his phone and placed it in her palm. His gaze, however, lingered on her collar, now even more disarrayed from their recent kisses. Everything beneath was visible. He swallowed hard , his Adam’s apple bobbing, his eyes alight with a barely suppressed fire.

“Password.” Shi Ning remained focused on the phone, oblivious to his fervent gaze.

“Your birthday.”

Her head snapped up in surprise, her eyes meeting his fiery ones. A blush spread across her cheeks, and she quickly averted her gaze. She swiftly dialed Lin Jingyao’s number, an unfamiliar contact, then handed the phone back to Qin Heye.

“Tell her thank you and that you will go to the hospital to see her tomorrow.”

Qin Heye looked at her, a hint of confusion in his eyes, but he complied, putting the call on speaker.

Meanwhile, Lin Jingyao, seeing Qin Heye’s number on her screen for the first time, sat bolt upright in bed, a wave of excitement washing over her. Her voice, thick with feigned concern, dripped with coquetry. “Mr. Qin, you called me this late , is Ningning leaving?”

Qin Heye remained silent. Lin Jingyao, misinterpreting his quietness, assumed Shi Ning had indeed eloped with Shen Xizhou. She continued, her voice syrupy sweet, “Don’t be too sad, Mr. Qin, it’s Ningning who doesn’t know how good you are. A man of your noble status does not need a buisness marriage, but only a gentle woman who truly loves you and can give everything for you.” And she, of course, was that woman.

Qin Heye glanced at Shi Ning, who nodded subtly, then spoke into the phone, his voice devoid of emotion. “Thank you for the today, I will go to the hospital to see you tomorrow.”

Lin Jingyao gasped, a surge of triumph almost making her leap from the bed. “Really? Mr. Qin, are you really coming to see me?” There was no reply from his end . She looked down; the call had already been disconnected. Lin Jingyao, far from sad, felt an urge to burst into dancing . She knew it! All her efforts were finally being recognized! Qin Heye was now interested in her! Even if she lacked Shi Ning’s beauty and family background, she believed that with enough persistence, any goal could be achieved.

After hanging up, Qin Heye frowned at Shi Ning. “Why did you want me to say that?” he asked, with a hint of genuine confusion. “Tomorrow, do you really want me to go see her?”

Shi Ning’s smile was a touch of mischievous. “My dad will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, we will go to the hospital together, and visit Lin Jingyao along the way.”

Qin Heye’s eyes darkened almost imperceptibly. He stared at Shi Ning, a long silence stretching between them before he finally voiced his lingering doubt. “Are you sure you are not pushing me to her side?”

Shi Ning glared at him, feigning indignation. “How is it possible? She provoked the relationship between us, so of course I took you to abuse the green tea.”

Qin Heye hummed lightly, a hint of amusement in his deep voice.

“It’s so late, go to bed early.” Shi Ning yawned, her eyelids heavy. She turned and padded toward the bed, sinking onto its soft expanse.

Qin Heye watched her, his eyes dimming slightly. He stood by the bed, looking down. The white shirt she wore barely covered her snow-white thighs, a tantalizing glimpse of skin. A low growl rumbled in his throat. He asked, his voice husky with desire, “Are you sure you want to sleep here?”

Shi Ning, already half-asleep, mumbled, “Yeah.”

“Last time,” Qin Heye’s voice was low, restrained, yet laced with a provocative undertone, “you rested for three days before you got out of bed and walked on your own .”

Shi Ning, still hazy with sleep, murmured, “Last time, and next time…”

Her innocent, alluring response fueled Qin Heye’s internal fire. “Sleep here, and tomorrow I can just carry you to pick up Dad from the hospital, are you sure?”

[The wheels of the big villain are already on her face, why is the vicious female supporting role still in Makabaka? This innocent look is really tempting. ]

[This is the room of the big villain, the bed of the big villain! Shi Ning is wearing his shirt and sleeping on his bed, isn’t it just to seduce him to sleep with this person? ]

[Big villain, you are a sickly lover, you are crazy, what are you restraining? Of course, your wife’s invitation is to satisfy her physically and mentally! ]

[The same sentence, dO will die if he doesn’t die! dO If he is injured, send him to the hospital, you can have a ward play! ]

[The villain has given two chances. If Shi Ning is sure to sleep here, he will pounce on her like a hungry tiger. Go for it! Eat meat in the middle of the night!]

The flurry of comments pierced through Shi Ning’s sleepy haze, waking her abruptly. She looked up at Qin Heye, his eyes blazing with a hunger that promised to consume her whole. She remembered that night, and a shiver ran down her spine. Her legs trembled. It hurts! It hurts too much!

Still reeling from the memory of that painful experience, Shi Ning bolted upright, leaping from the bed. “I… I’ll go back to my room to sleep.” She fled from the room, pulling the door shut behind her.

Qin Heye gazed at the rumpled sheets where Shi Ning had lain, a sigh escaping his lips. He moved toward the bathroom, intending to take a cold shower to quell the burning desire within him. But as he entered, he spotted Shi Ning’s discarded clothes in the laundry basket, her delicate underwear resting on top. His eyes darkened once more. He pressed his lips into a tight line, then picked up her garments and stepped into the showering water.

[Ahhh! What is the big villain doing! How can this be! ]

[The big villain is so perverted, I like it so much! ]

[Huh? What’s going on? Why didn’t I see anything? Aren’t we on the same channel? ]

[What is the big villain being so reserved about! My wife was just in bed! You deserve to have no wife! ]

[The big villain has meat but doesn’t eat it, why is he inviting us to drink meat soup! Ahhh! Female supporting role, come back and see what bad things your husband is doing! ]

The next morning, Shi Ning awoke to the brilliant glow of the comments. A sudden realization dawned on her: she had showered in Qin Heye’s room last night, then fallen asleep while waiting for his message, completely forgetting her clothes. Her clothes! Her underwear, all in Qin Heye’s room!

A rush of heat flooded her face. She practically flew to Qin Heye’s door. Just as she opened it, he emerged. He paused, startled to see her. “Morning,” he said, his voice a little rough.

“Good morning,” Shi Ning stammered, her face aflame. “Well, I left my clothes in your room , I came to get it.”

Qin Heye averted his gaze. “The servant took it to wash.”

Shi Ning let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. She looked up at Qin Heye, noticing a flush creeping from his neck all the way to his ears. She leaned in slightly, a mischievous curiosity taking over. On his balcony, her panties were hanging to dry, small florals, with a tiny bow at the front, fluttering in the breeze. Ah! Her childish style!

Shi Ning’s face burned.

Qin Heye’s cheeks grew even hotter as he realized she had seen them. He spoke, his voice a low rasp, “I’ll wash it for you. My wife’s underwear, I will wash it by hand in the future, it’s clean and hygienic.”

The president of the Qin Group, worth hundreds of billions, his hands accustomed to commanding empires, had personally hand-washed her underwear! Despite her acute embarrassment, a secret, fluttery happiness bloomed within her.

After breakfast, Shi Ning and Qin Heye headed to the hospital. On the way, Shi Ning scrolled through Lin Jingyao’s social media, noticing a post from last night. It was a screenshot of the last two digits of Qin Heye’s phone number, captioned with a smug message: “[The man I love the most is coming to see me tomorrow, and my relationship with the man I love the most has taken a step further! I am so happy.]” Even Yu Yuexi hadn’t “liked” the post, confirming that it was likely set to be visible only to Shi Ning. Shi Ning chuckled softly, then turned off her phone.

At the hospital, Lin Jingyao, who had been too excited to sleep all night, had risen early to meticulously prepare herself. She wore a particularly daring, sheer, and alluring silk nightgown. Hearing footsteps approaching her door, she practically leapt to open it. With a deliberate, seductive gesture, she pulled one of her suspender straps to the side, revealing a generous expanse of her chest, and purred, “Master Qin, I…”

Her words died in her throat. Her face contorted in shock. “Ah!” Lin Jingyao screamed.
