Qin Heye’s cold gaze swept over the male models in the room before settling on Shi Ning. “Is this the male model you ordered?” His voice was calm, yet it carried an intimidating, suffocating aura that instantly silenced the room.
The 520 male model, clutching his flowers, wished the ground would swallow him whole. The other male models instinctively retreated into the shadows, their heads bowed. Shen Xizhou watched, a secret, sweet satisfaction blooming within him, while Shi Qingyin reveled in schadenfreude, eagerly anticipating a marital clash and subsequent divorce.
Shi Ning, however, was engrossed in the barrage of comments, her face flushing with anxiety. The comments were either gleefully awaiting her downfall or crassly speculating about her. “Can’t anyone offer some real advice?” she muttered to herself.
Mu Tiantian, despite being visibly shaken by Qin Heye’s intense presence, bravely stepped forward, shielding Shi Ning. With a fierce and righteous glare, she declared, “I ordered the male model. It has nothing to do with Ningning baby. If you have anything to say, come to me.”
Qin Heye’s thin lips parted slightly, his eyes holding a chilling “Oh?”
Just as Shi Ning was touched by Mu Tiantian’s loyalty, she was abruptly shoved forward, directly in front of Qin Heye. They were face to face, lips almost touching. Mu Tiantian, now timid, hid behind Shi Ning, whispering, “I support you spiritually. Coax the big devil well, I believe you can.” She reasoned that Qin Heye’s long-suffering devotion to Shi Ning, even after three years of “suicide attempts” and a recent “sleeping with him” incident, proved his unwavering affection.
“Break up in three seconds,” Shi Qingyin scoffed, her loyalty fleeting.
Qin Heye took a slight step back, his gaze calmly falling on Shi Ning. “Take me to meet eighteen male models?” He then directed his icy stare at the trembling 520 male model. “Baby?” His eyes then flickered to Mu Tiantian behind Shi Ning. “Baby?”
Shi Ning, witnessing Qin Heye’s retreat, was baffled. The barrage exploded with indignant comments: “What is the big villain, this dead pretender, retreating for! Don’t you want a wife?” “I really want to go in and be the assistant of the big villain and teach him how to chase a wife!” “The jealous big villain is really too cute!” “The big villain must have been aggrieved and hugged Shi Ning baby, crying like a kettle: Woo, I haven’t called my wife baby…”
Shi Ning, influenced by the barrage, found herself instinctively lowering her gaze towards Qin Heye, a blush spreading across her cheeks before she quickly looked away. The comments, she realized, were utterly unhelpful, only encouraging her “big yellow girl” tendencies. She had to rely on herself to resolve this.
Looking up at Qin Heye, Shi Ning admitted with bold honesty, “Well, I asked Tiantian’s male model to ask to come and for you to see them.”
The air around Qin Heye instantly turned frigid, his eyebrows frosted over. The eighteen male models nearly collapsed, while Mu Tiantian felt an urge to literally kneel before Shi Ning. Better yet, she thought, to wash Shi Ning clean, package her up, and deposit her on Qin Heye’s bed, letting Shi Ning do the kneeling.
Shi Ning, feeling the icy grip in the room, reached out and gently pulled Qin Heye, guiding him to the sofa. She then audaciously settled herself directly onto his lap. “I’ll show you how much I don’t like Shen Xizhou,” she declared.
Shen Xizhou watched, his brow furrowed, as Shi Ning nestled into Qin Heye’s embrace. The dim lighting of the box lent an ambiguous, almost ethereal quality to their intertwined forms. A prick of discomfort shot through Shen Xizhou’s heart. This wasn’t right. Shi Ning shouldn’t be like this with Qin Heye, not in front of him. She had always loved him!
Qin Heye, holding the small woman in his arms, inhaled her faint fragrance, and the icy chill around him instantly melted. Mu Tiantian and the others also felt as if they had been yanked back from the brink of hell.
Shi Qingyin, aghast, couldn’t believe how easily Qin Heye was placated. A mere mention of male models, a seat on his lap—and the formidable Qin Heye had calmed down! Taking a deep breath, Shi Qingyin adopted a facade of virtuous concern. “Even if my sister doesn’t like Mr. Qin, she shouldn’t call him to watch you play with male models and see how you betray your marriage and Mr. Qin. You are trampling and humiliating Mr. Qin. How can Mr. Qin gain a foothold in the capital in the future!”
Shi Ning rolled her eyes at Shi Qingyin. Then, she playfully pinched Qin Heye’s chin. “Did I trample on you and humiliate you?” she mumbled.
Qin Heye’s eyes dropped to her pouting pink lips, finding them utterly delectable. He fought the urge to kiss her, his Adam’s apple bobbing uncontrollably. “No,” he managed to say.
Knowing his laconic nature, Shi Ning issued a direct command. “If you don’t like it, answer again, and it must not be less than ten words!”
Qin Heye was silent for a moment. “Hmph!” Shi Ning huffed, letting go of his chin and attempting to rise from his lap. But Qin Heye’s grip on her slender waist tightened, holding her firmly in place.
He finally spoke, his voice clear, “My wife didn’t trample on me or humiliate me. Even if my wife trampled on me or humiliated me…” Qin Heye, unable to meet her gaze, continued, “I am happy with it.”
The barrage exploded in shock: “The big villain is so useless! He was originally angry, but now he is coaxing Shi Ning!” “I thought the big villain would be stubborn until the end, but before 50 episodes, he was trained like a dog by the female supporting role.” “That’s right, the big villain Qin Heye is the number one legitimate dog among Shi Ning’s many licking dogs!”
Shi Ning herself was stunned, her face a mask of surprise. She hadn’t expected such humble words from Qin Heye.
Shi Qingyin, consumed by jealousy, watched the cold, noble Qin Heye humble himself for Shi Ning. She knew he liked her, but not to this extent! How could such a fool like Shi Ning deserve his devotion?
Seeing Shi Qingyin’s face contort with jealousy, Shi Ning felt a wave of satisfaction. She raised an eyebrow triumphantly. “You heard it, my husband is happy with whatever I do.”
Shi Qingyin was speechless, choking on her envy.
Shen Xizhou, watching their embrace, felt a sharp prick in his heart. He glared coldly at Shi Ning. “Aning, pay attention to your image outside, it’s not appropriate to hug like this.” He inwardly seethed, vowing that if she didn’t leave Qin Heye’s arms, he would be truly, irrevocably angry.
“Not only do I want to hug, I also want to kiss,” Shi Ning declared. She then wrapped her arms around Qin Heye’s neck and planted a resounding kiss on his cheek. “Hubby, look at the good show I prepared for you!”
Qin Heye’s lips curled into a slight smile. “Yeah.”
Shen Xizhou’s face darkened completely. This time, he decided, Shi Ning was beyond coaxing.
